05/07: Farewell to The Captain
On Monday, one of my favourite hockey players retired from the game that he put his body and soul into.
Steve Yzerman was the quintessential Canadian hockey player. The intensity that he brought to the game, and the quiet leadership and accountability he brought to the team, endeared him to a generation of hockey fans everywhere. It's not very often that a player like that graces the game, and I consider myself lucky to have watched him play for so many years.

RALEIGH, NC—Only hours after the Carolina Hurricanes won the NHL Championship Monday night in a hard-fought Game 7 against the Edmonton Oilers, North Carolina Gov.
